"Hélio Surdos's friend Carlos is deaf, blind, and a huge soccer fan. As a result of his sensory limitations, he's been largely left out of the excitement of the World Cup in Brazil. One morning, Hélio woke up with a great desire to help Carlos follow a soccer match live. So he made a scale model of a soccer field and marked lines with what appears to be a plastic clay. During a match between Brazil and Croatia, Hélio moved Carlos's hands over the board to match the movement of the ball. Regiane, an interpreter, signed the gameplay into Carlos's back. As you can see, Carlos really got into the spirit of the event."

Absolutely. Despite all those patronizing "restoring faith in humanity" posts, I have never lost faith in humanity, because I know amazing people like this exist everywhere. Unfortunately, our world tends to focus on the truly terrible people (ever read Gawker?), while these everyday heroes are overlooked. If we all focused on how we might make one person's life better, the world would be a better place.

100% true sir. Sadly that's how the world was, is, and will be. The news is just one big click bait. This guy rules, a truly awesome person just like many in this world.

It's funny because Surdo means deaf in portuguese, but Hélio Surdo can hear just fine, it's his friend who can't... Ok, I'll shut up now :p
